i have been using riva tuner to overclock my video card.
i also have been using NVIDIA Monitor to check if things are working and temps.

i have a question on whether its just an error in NVIDIA Monitor or not.

i am currently overclocking my NVIDIA 7800 GT 400/1000 to 425/1100 but when i bring up NVIDIA Monitor to check it, it correctly shows the core clock at 425 but it shows the memory clock as always half of what i put it at. ie im overclocking at 1100, it shows as 550, or default as 1000, and it shows as 500. Is this just wrong?

my motherboard is an ABIT AN8 SLI but i only have 1 video card. is that maybe what is causing this incorrect reading? or am i really only getting ~500 mhz out of my memory?

also
im thinking about overclocking my processor also, but the only way i know how is to up the FSB. this is also increasing my RAM DDR speeds. is this bad since i don't have "overclocking" memory? is there a way i can keep my memory at 400 mhz or is it ok that my memory is also overclocked?

The reason your graphic card's memory clocks are half, is that memory speeds are always doubled. So what you're seeing there, is the real speed. The 1100, is the doubled/effective speed.
