Nvidia G92 is it the 9 series?

Hang on, thats pretty cheap. Well not cheap, but comparable to the 8800GTX. Well all those prices are significantly cheaper than the cost of an 8800GTX over here in the UK. What gives?

Because its based on the G90 core and not the G80 core...

then why dont they just make it a lowend 9000 card?

cuz the low end 9000 series will be based on revisions and shrinks of the 9800GTX...that's how it's always been...the high end cards come out first..and then the low ends use that technology...and then it repeats...the G90(supposed name) has been in development for quite some time now...but chances are its not ready yet..so they used part of that technology for the G92 to make the 8700 series
