They're completely different cards. The X1950PRO is a mid range card, while the 8800GTX is a high end card.

Here are the 8800 series line:
8800 Ultra
8800 gtx
8800 gts 640mb
8800 gts 320mb

A lot of people say the ultra is an oc edition from the gtx and it has better cooling.

And the 8800 series can play dx 10 games...the X1950 pro cannot.

If you want future gaming proof, id say get the gtx or ultra if your not on the budget..

Im on the urge of returning my gts and getting the gtx.

Meh. I'm happy with my X1950XT. I'm on XP, so DX10 is not a real concern for me.

^ thats cuz u just fold... i need a dual-core GPU... one that can handle my folding and my gaming (maybe at the same time) we'll see what AMD has for their new one coming out

why compare a x1950pro to an 8800gts... they're not even in the same league... i think an x1950xt would be a better competition...

as i mentioned, i do NOT know anything about ati cards (comparison wise)
And i didnt bring that card up...
