RAM comparisons

I have a couple questions about RAM speed.

<1> Is there a noticeable difference between PC 2700 and PC 3200?

<2> How much faster is 2x256 MB than 1 stick of 512 MB? I would like 1 GB, but can't afford it, so I only got 1 stick of 512 with the intention of upgrading another 512 stick later.

Go for something like the HyperX RAM from Kingston... I found it for 140 on pricewatch.com

do you have to have a special mobo that suports dual chanel and pc 3200?

tiger direct doesn't carry the HyperX memory that i was refering to

Kingston HyperX PC3200 512MB

tiger direct only carries 333MHz in the HyperX

I heard on another board that Tiger Direct has one of the poorest reseller ratings amongst PC users. I used to receive their flyers in the mail... not anymore.. their prices never impressed me much anyway.
