Graphic card problems

I have an ATI Radeon 9600 series graphic card (nothing special really) 256mb
agp 8x. Recently i have discovered for some reason the agp is set on 0x and when i try to change to anything higher it goes back to 0x as soon as my pc is restarted. the graphic card itself is working fine im having no problems with it other than that. i checked the bios and agp is enabled and everything seems fine there. However, when i run dxdiag and go to display under agp texture acceleration it says "not available".I have tried uninstalling the drivers and reinstalling them, even tried reinstalling older drivers. also figured i would try reinstalling directx (9.0c). still nothing has changed. help would be very much appreciated and if any additional information is needed please ask.

I have no idea... But clearing the CMOS is always worth a go.

agreed with Vaanish.. CMOS Reset....

if you overclocked your card.. reset it...

hmm cleared the cmos, didnt work. thx for the suggestions though.

ok... try unplugging... and replugging the video card.. see if it helps..

tried that didnt do anything maybe ill try leaving it out for a few minutes then plugging it back in
