New sound card not working

just to verify i bought this sound card of this forum.

Its a Creative sound blaster audigy 4.

Ive been trying this for almost 2 hours now.
The sound worked before i installed any drivers, but now nothing works.
I should have just gone with onboad, this is a hassle.

Strange. It's supposed to be for Audigy 4 and Audigy 4 Pro, on Vista 32-bit

I went through a similar hassle finding drivers for my Audigy LS on Vista 64-bit (though my main PC uses a modified X-Fi XtremeMusic on XP)

I download drivers that are supposed to work, and get told that it doesn't support the card.

you wont beilieve this.

I uninsatlled everything and then windows update ran and installed it itself and its working now.
I want to install the driver for the remote i got, i think i can do that since it worked earlier.

Wow...vista actually helped.
Thats the number 1 thing i love about vista, it finds drivers.

Maybe its the same for XP. Just that the Update can find drivers.

with XP, the drivers from the CD would have worked fine.

Plus, XP still has HAL for Direct3D sound.

eh it works now and im happy.

Whats sm bus ...it keeps tryin to find the driver for it...but cant find it.
