when boot up PC screen is all scrambled, hubby's PC which he built for gaming ( he's at work!)
he thinks it may be the graphics card which is an Asus ATI Radeon EAX-X1900 XT-X 512MB PCI express.

but any other sugestions would be helpful....

Thanks

it could be the resolution?
what kind of monitor is it.(size)?
Try setting it at the native resolution.

If your mobo has onboard graphics, take out the card and check if it works.

i know it doesn't have onboard graphics and it has been working fine till this afternoon so i don't think it's the resolution.

i will pass this info on tho

Thanks

You could try cleaning out the card..but i doubt thats it.
Well i bet somone else will come across and bet much better help.
Sorry i couldnt help much.

I don't think it is overheating as it has been running fine for the past 4 months.
I have artic cooling fans in the system and the GC temp is 32 on my display.
System is

Ati Radeon EAX-X1900 XT-X 512mb (pci express)
2 x Western Digital 250GB Hard Drives
FSP Sparkle FX700-GLN Epsilon 700w ATX2.0 PSU
Asus A8R32-MVP Deluxe Crossfire Motherboard
AMD Athlon 64X2 Dual Core 4200+
Corsair 2GB DDR Pro Twin

Anymore help would be great Cheers.

Ok I left my pc off for the night and it booted up in the morning fine.

I left it running for 2 days all temps were normal and it locked up and now it has gone back to the scrambled screen on boot up.

Any ideas as to what it could be?

Thanks

The card could be faulty...try using a different card if you have one. You could just go buy a cheap pci or pcie card and see if the problem is solved. If it works, that means its your card.
