VR-Zone has learned more about the upcoming Nvidia G92 where the official marketing name is most likely to be GeForce 8700 GTS. As revealed earlier, G92 is 65nm based and has 256-bit memory bus width. The reference 8700 GTS card has 8-layer PCB and comes with 512MB GDDR3 1ns memories so the memory clock of G92 is estimated to be between 900Mhz to 1GHz. Core clock is unknown yet.

So no 9 series this year. It's more of a 65nm shrink, of the 8 series. They will support PCIe 2.0 and DX10.1....Be happy with your 8800GTS, GTX, and Ultra.

does this mean its cheaper than the 8800GTS? or more? Will this cause a price drop?

like I said, all those people who said, screw the 8 series Im waiting for a 9 series card for $599 this novemeber are buffoons. It never pays to wait for hardware longer then a months time.

ooo 256-bit bus, most likely will be the mid range product great performance matching the 7900's. Lower prices of 8800GTS? Most likely not, but will fit inbetween the 8600GTS which is $200 and 8800GTS which is $300.

lol... i'm building next year.. .so 9 series for me ;) (like next December)

8700 512 mb should be good for mid-gaming on high resolution because of the half a gig of RAM right? or does RAM have nothing to do with the res.
