Does Quad Core Matter?

really it comes out tomorrow?
MOH has been sucky though, cod has been pretty good and so has BIA.

When talking about the 45nm processors...which models are going to come out and how much better and worth it is it going to be?

Honestly even though the qx6800 can oc to 3.6...that much of an oc is not necessary.
If you can get around 3.0-3.2 with the q6600, thats good enough.
Spending all that extra money is just a waste.

From what i've read, the 45nm procs will be about 15-20% more performance depending on if the SSE4 instructions are being used or not. My guess is an overclocked q6600 will easily last until the nehilems come out, or AMD gets their act together.

And with proper cooling a q6600 can hit 3.6 too :) I had mine running stable at 3.6 for about 5 hours but turned it down due to it heating my apartment up so bad.

Well im going to be doing only 2-3 more upgrades once these processors come out.
Ill get the processor , the new nvidia series and more ram if needed.

At least the quad core isn't loosing bad in anything... so if the price for a q6600 and a dual core are similar going with the q6600 is only going to be beneficial...

^ i agree.. i mean u can't beat a quad-core for sub-300$ but lets see what amd pulls out next week with Barcelona..
