How to : Remove Vista's shortcuts arrow.

In all windows's operating systems a small arrow icon is added to the original one to declare that it is a shortcut, however, it is not visually nice and you can remove it by downloading the freeware FX visor component :

Be careful as doing this can cause your game shortcuts to not work anymore. The files are ust .ink files not true shortcuts as they were in XP. Do this at your own caution cause if they do break. You have to go into the registry and try and find it to fix it.

I don't think so it just replaces the arrow icon with a blank one, anyway i don't play pc games.

That is why i put up this warning. I have used this application along with others that have done this to me. I have personal experience with this. So it DOES do it. Since the shortcut arrow is a part of the Shell Extension now removing the arrow, or even replacing it, on games causes them to not work correctly.
