well if you want to play the games so bad then get a 2900XT and stop complaining.

WHO'S COMPLAINING HERE... not I... lol, i already said in a previous thread that i'm looking to buy an x2900xt.... and i probably will be doing so pretty soon.

you've been here long enough to know i buy every graphics card there is out there :p

the 2900 hardware wise is a superior card

Did you read my previous posts ?

No, the HD2900 hardware wise is not superior. Nvidia and ATI DX10 video have completely different architecture, that why it is difficult to compare them

Geforce 8800GTX have more texture unit than HD2900XT. And the stream processor in 8800GTX are only 128 but they more efficient because G80 can co-issue one MAD and one MUL instruction per clock to each of its 128 stream processors. ATI stream processor can't do that

But according to these reviews, 8800GTX performs better than HD2900XT 1GB GDDR4

And 8800GTX cost around the same price

I've found a 1gb 2900XT for 200 quid so I think I'll end up going with that since its such a steal...and I'm pretty sure I'll be satisfied with its performance.

Maroon do you even know what it means to make MUL and MAD instructions at the same time? parallelism is great but you are the first person i have seen touting that as a feature. could it be that the improvement is negligible
