Extra Battery

So I have an HP dv6449 with just the standard 6-cell battery. I found the extended 12-cell battery on sale for $99.99 when it is normally around $130-$140. Should I get it now at this price? And how much better is the 12-cell, and would it be beneficial to get it especially since I am studying abroad soon?

The 12-cell should give you at least 1.5x or 2x run time.

the battery is also huge, it will make your laptop sit higher than before

All true. As long as you don't mind carrying around a larger and heavier battery, though, that's a great price on it.
