dads pc freezing

my dads pc keeps freezing
i dont know why it freezes and you cant do anything at all once you reboot it works
her rally wants to find the problem
i know its not overheating i downloaded everest on it and check temps
cpu is at 42 and mobo and 37

so what could it be
when i loaded everest it said the computer has an unknown mobo when i open it its a msi mobo?

whats the problem?

Computer freezing? Try the link Vaanish provided for you. What actually happened when it's freezing? Are you running any big programs that make the CPU at full load?

Freezing is a difficult thing to track. Could be a virus, a very corrupt registry, a poorly seated cable connection, a corrupt driver, a full HDD. If the drive has less than 1gb of room, it's full. It could be bad software on the system that isn't necessary or failing power supply, RAM, video card, motherboard, CPU. Only way to test hardware is swap it with what does work to test it (hardware, that is).

Run your antivirus software, spyware, etc first.
