installing floppy drive

well i'm stumped, I have a fairly recent computer but it didn't have a floppy drive and it hates me trying to install one. I've already tried just about every troubleshooting thing imaginable. I have the ide cable in right, it has power, i changes the bios but when ever i try to access it through my computer it keeps displaying "insert disk"... yes i have a disk in there.

manually install the drivers through hardware manager.

nevermind i got it, Bad ide cable, i switched it out and it went fine...shouldn't trust those giagantic 3 foot long cables...

Try changing your data ide cable check powercable check the bois that the proper floppy is select and is enabled above all see you pluging the cables in the rite manner in the motherboard and in the floppy disk .

when you turn your pc on if the floppy drive led is on and stays on then put the floppy cable upside down ..(the other way) in the floppy drive not in the board..!!
