Need some Help

it's my first time makin a computer, and i have no idea whats wrong. i did everything according to the manuals, and when i power it on, the fans and hard drive work and everything, but nothing shows up on the monitor, and the cd roms wont open, what's wrong, and can someone help me?

confirm the connections, etc for the CD and graphics card. maybe even try putting the card into another slot?

Does the CD have power? does it have a LED light on?

This has happened to me before, try unplugging all the cables and then plugging them back in.
