keep getting this message

hi i keep getting this message when trying to open a audio file all my drivers are installed but i keep getting this.

Windows Media Player cannot play the file because there is a problem with your sound device. There might not be a sound device installed on your computer, it might be in use by another program, or it might not be functioning properly.

Maybe you should try reinstalling your sound drivers.

hmm...Go to the device manager, and see if there is a yellow exclamation point, near your audio device. Also, do you have a sound card? or onboard sound?

there seems to be no yellow marks and ive got onboard sound.

well i had the default windows sound settings applied by accident and my onboard graphics would not work until i chose the option to use my own installed sound manager big mistake by me lol sorry for wasting your time.
