just wondering because I may purchase it from a friend. I mainly want to use it for uploading video from my camcorder and gaming.
 
That would do just fine. But how much are you paying for it? How used is it?
 
he said he built it in march this year. and the price is 600. But i'm trying to get him down to 550.
 
Those specs are pretty cheap for $600. And yes, it's a good build for decent gaming. By decent, I mean it might be able to/might not be able to play future games. If you plan on playing these upcoming games that is about to be released, look into a new GPU.
 
sorry for being such a newb....but what is a GPU?

and I see you have the westinghouse 19" I was thinking of buying one at best buy for 150.00 do you like it?
 
Graphics Processing Unit, also known as Graphics Card/VGA/GPU/GFX/etc.

I love it! :D The Westinghouse looks great and it works wonderfully. Thing is, a week after I got it, I saw a pixel that I was thought was a dead one, but a few days later, it just disappeared.
