DVD's and some video play dark

Recently I've had lots of video problems like DVD's not showing and restarting sometime fixing the problem and it's all over the place. Now some videos and a DVD is showing dark but it shows the video as it should be. I want to know if anything got corrupt while I installed powerdvd 7 or interactual player which came with the dvd which is not pirated of course because i bought it off a store.

EDIT: Oh btw the video plays dark no matter what player i play on.

Have you got the latest codec pack. Have you got the latest drivers? Have you made sure the drivers are installed correctly? Have you tried to un-install the drivers and re-install them? What OS are you on?

well i'm sure i have the latest drivers and everything and my windows is up to date and also this problem suddenly appeared and don't really know what is causing this problem. also i tried reinstalling windows media player and powerdvd but it doesn't work.

go to the nvidia control panel and use the video color correction walkthrough.

If on ATI or Nvidia there are ome video color profiles, choose theater or cinema, or simply increase the brightness.
