External HD Enclosure problem

im sure someone here can help me.
a few years ago my old computer got pretty messed so i bought a new one.
yesterday i was bored i removed the hard drive from the old one and bought an external enclosure for it so i could browse the files from my current computer, because apparently thats possible.
so i hook it all up, and plug it in, but my computer doesnt recognize it at all other than, you can safely remove it.
someone help me! thanks

Go to your Device Manager and check if it detects the HDD. Try checking your BIOS too.

its recognized under device manager; under universal serial bus controllers thers a yellow exclamation mark that says USB Mass Storage Device.

but not under disk management

Have you created a partition on the disk?
