Hi

I am thinking of getting vista home premium. I am unsure about it, so I was wanting to keep XP pro and vista on the same hdd. I currently have XP on the HDD, and there is no other partition on the drive. I will create a partition for vista to be installed on. However, when I know vista works on that partition, and everything is working fine, I would want to remove XP, and the partition. Would I be able to do that?

Cheers

You can separate the HD into partitions via Partition magic and then you could hust format the xp partition on Vista by selecting the xp partition --> Right click --> Format... Unless it works open the cmd and type

format rootletter:

Where rootletter is C, D , E etc (select the xp partition srootletter). Furthermore you don't have to worry about boot configuuration, vista makes it's own. After formating the partition you could also concatenate it via partition magic or another partioning program.
