Can somebody please help me? I'm so confused!

I will use this computer for:
dual boot xp & ubuntu
I multitask a lot but here is the basics
mainly multimedia and p2p, azureus, photoshop, movie maker, itunes, firefox, dvd decrypter, starcraft 2

Can somebody please help me? I'm so confused!

I have already picked out my keyboard, mouse, speakers, case, hard drives, DVD drive, monitor, wireless card, RAM, and video card.

I was looking at these 2. They have firewire and lots of USB, the only thing I don't like is that they don't have eSATA. But the EVGA has a lifetime warranty and the ASUS has a 3 year warranty.

That motherboard doesn't have Firewire, which I need. I would also prefer it to have eSATA, but I know this can be added on later but I don't know how.

For CPU, I was looking at the E6320 but someone told me to get the E6550. They have different FSBs but if I could a board that supported both it would be future proof as well, correct?

The E6550 would be better, because it has the G0 stepping, which consumes less power.

...I have this motherboard too.

But I would recommend the P35-DS3R, like peter mentioned. You can just can get a firewire or eSATA PCI card.

The ASUS looks nice since it's already got FW/eSATA. I'm not going to use SLI but this board isn't expensive because it has that option. ASUS is a brand I've heard of but I've never actually heard of Gigabyte, is it reliable? I know the ASUS has a 3 year warranty which would probably be nice.

My wireless adapter is a 32-bit PCI 2.2 Bus Master which is just a normal PCI I think. The Gigabyte has room for that and FW/eSATA PCI cards but the ASUS already has those built in. Adding cards would add onto cost. I think I'll go with the ASUS.

Gigabyte is recommended here daily. But that ASUS isn't a bad choice. Which ASUS did you choose? The one I recommended?

I take it, you're not gaming with this system? Hence the 7300GT.

Why not the G. Skill RAM, I suggested? They're a better memory set. Is it because of the rebate?

I would rather go for the G.Skill RAM because of Instant Savings. MIR sometimes cause confusion.
