Power Supply Question

I know next to nothing about power supplies, so could someone help me know how many watts would I need for this system I'm about to build:

CPU- AMD Athlon XP 3200+
Mobo- Gigabyte "GA-7VT600 1394"
RAM- 512MB (1 stick) Kingston PC3200 DDR
Hard Drive- Western Digital 80GB SATA
Video Card- GeForce FX 5200
Optical Drive- Sony CD Burner 52x32x52

always good to get 20-40 watts over your requirments to be on the safe side.

Minimum 480 watts. Get a quality product (Antec) for reliability and to avoid trouble.

How many case fans do you typically need with a case?

Well, it's not about how many.....but where you place the ones that you have. Typically, you should use one in the lower front blowing into the case. I'd use two in the upper back....by the power supply and processor (if possible) blowing out. You want to create a good/cool airflow sucking in cooler air (bottom) and blowing out warmer air (top....due to hot air rising).
