The X38 is the high end Bearlake motherboard chipset, for the new 45nm processors.

It's the high end motherboards, so it should be around the $200-300 range. The new 45nm desktop processors, are the dual core Wolfdales, and the quad core Yorkfields.

The Wolfdale and Yorkfield processors, can be used with the P35 chipsets, as well. It's just that the X38 is the high end chipset for the Wolfdales and Yorkfields, just as the 975x chipset, was the high end for the Conroe and Kentsfield.

Basically the 975x will be replaced by the X38, and the 965P was replaced with the P35 chipset.

That means when the X38 comes out along with Wolfdale and Yorkfield processors, it'll work with the P35 chipsets. So is that what the P35 means in front of DS3R?

Yes...Both the X38 and P35 chipsets, are Bearlake, which are designed for the upcoming 45nm processors. The other lower end Bearlakes, are the Q33, Q35, G33, and G35.
