I've got a HD that apparently has some bad sectors. It gets to a certain point and then shuts down the PC.

MaxPro tools determined the HD was going bad.

What is a good program to use to by-pass the bad sectors ???

chkdisk. it finds them and tells the hard drive not to use those clusters. You should think about backing up all your data and migrating to a new hard drive. Some are just bad.

I'm not able to access chkdisk at this point. I would need a program that boots from the floppy drive.

If you can boot from your CD drive, you can boot up a windows disk, then choose repair mode, and run chkdsk from there.
