Ok, I have a friend that is wanting a computer, his budget is $1000, don't worry about the case, he just needs a cheap one that will hold up decently. He is looking to have a machine to play most newer games and to do school work. Anyone have any ideas??? Last time I was doing anything dealing with computers was over a year ago really, and things have changed quite a bit it seems. So any ideas??? BTW it can NOT go over budget what so ever, even with shipping added in.

The DS3R would of went over budget. The DS3L just lacks RAID support, has 4 SATA ports instead of 8, and has Ultra Durable 1....not Ultra Durable 2. Which isn't needed.

i just realised people keep saying games+schoolwork, if the computer can play decent games it can pretty much do all school work :p i think its just an excuse to buy a new computer.

unless your in 3rd year uni and needing to work with illustrator and indesign and all that other stuff you dont need to put school work in there :p

lol sorry for rant.
