Welcome Firekity.

For that budget, and that size of screen you will want at least an 8800GTS 320mb for that build.

Also, im pretty sure the Seagate 750GB drives are faster at the moment.

Lastly, unless you intent on going AMD, an intel build would be better. They overclock better, and they are newer technology. If you are willing to go intel i would suggest either a Q6600, or an E6750, or a cheaper E6550. And for the motherboard a Gigabyte P35-DS3R, or an ASUS P5K Delux (but only for the quad).

If you realy cant afford an expensive gpu, i would suggest a 1950XT or a 7900GS instead.

The 640mb 8800GTS doesnt show that much increase in performance in benchmarks over the 320mb version for the extra premium. A better option for that price range would be the ATI 2900XT in my opinion.

And yes the quad is great - for its price you could get a dual core with a bit more speed, but most people here agree the extra 2 cores will be better in the long run.

8800GTS is already ~$270+ range
2900XT is around the ~$400+ range

and you think that the 9800GTS or GTX lowest price will be around ~$400?

The GTX is at a mere ~$550 and the Ultra is about ~$620.
Well maybe the 9 series GTS could be around the price range of ~$400-$500, but for the 9 series GTX, I'm doubting it can be anywhere in that price range.

Im just hoping it drops the prices of the 8800GTX lol.
