Then get that monitor b1gapl has just suggested. Use your D-SUB for now until you're WANTING to upgrade it to DVI since that monitor has both adapters for either DVI or D-SUB.

That Samsung does look nice but the monitor isn't for me and I'm sure they will want the cheaper one.
 
It seems kind of small since we use dual 24" monitors at work but its better than the 17" CRT I had before.
 
My hanns-g has a dvi and vga (can use either one if i wanted to) however i don't know whats in your price range but theres usually a 22' at bestbuy for like 189 which is a really great deal. It was just this past week however i am sure they will have it again next week.
