Why get a Pentium 4, why not an Athlon XP ? You could get a lot better Athlon XP for less money.

The 3200+ has a faster clockspeed then the p4 2.8 ghz cpu.. but think about this..

the 3200 runs hot, no matter what heatsink/fan you have, unless its a watercooling device, it will run hot(ter) then the p4.. if yyou try overclocking a 3200 significantly you will either burn your cpu/mobo/ram or get dangerously close to it.. Now, with a p4, you can overclock from a 2.8 to 3.4 with minimal heat increase..

so the result? 2.8c ghz northwood ht cpu overclocked to a 3.4 ghz and now runs faster then the 3200+ AND has equal or lower temperature readings.. lets not forget hyperthreading if you want it enabled, and higher FSB speeds.

the 64 bit cpu's are a different story.. AMD has intel beat in that department, but lets not forget there will be atleast another 8-9 months until applications even START to recognize the 64 bit address increase.


But anyway, I like this build you have alot better now, mr. I think its just fine for a business computer.

Intel mobos donot support overclocking. So it is not an issue here.
mrzeeedler, I would seriously recommend AMD 2400+ which is number one in the case of value for money.
I have a 400fsb processor and believe me they r not worth it.
One more thing, stay away from 845 chipsets as they are outdated.
