Nvidia has usually been a step ahead of ATI. I'm interested in ATI's new method of using multi-core processors, in their upcoming R700 series though.
 
it usually only doubles the FPS's

but if you are willing to wait and want to pay the outrageous markup prices on the 9series (i guarantee they will be close to $1k) otherwise you could go like i am and get one Ultra for now with a 680i board, then when the 9's come out and the prices drop add in a second Ultra.

I think I'll just wait until next year for my P35-DS3R and probably a 8800GTS/GTX/Ultra if the prices are on my range. But it seems to me that there will be a better board coming soon that will be better then the P35-DS3R. In my opinion, I don't really know, just getting a feeling.
