so i ordered an xbox 360 hd dvd player to hook up to my pc, and it works really well! you just need the necessary software, i use powerdvd ultra. its 99 bucks unless you have other means of acquiring it. also, xp needs drivers which are available here: xbox 360 hd dvd drivers

windows vista recognizes it natively through automatic software updates.

i am running it on a 37" lcd tv and the picture is pretty sweet.

99$ ???

if only it let me play xbox 360 games on my PC lol

sadly, it only plays hd dvd's. but for those who are willing to shell out about 300 for a set-top hd dvd player, this is a good alternative at a much cheaper price (if you have an htpc, of course)

and for the record, i didnt pay 99 bucks for the software. im a poor college student, i do what i can to get by :)
