CPU cleaning options

Don't have any rubbing alcohol handy, just wondering what other options there are. worse case scenario can go buy some tomorrow but would like to try re-installing the CPU tonight as I'm running out of options to fix my problem.

Nothing in your house with high alcohol content? Whiskey? Vodka?

You can just clean it off with paper the hard way but it won't be perfect.

you can use one of those coffee filter cups to remove the gunk

Yeah, that's all I have...but shouldn't the last bit be removed with rubbing alcohol or some other de-greaser or something? Don't have a clue....just asking.

Is Vodka really a viable solution?
