Upgrade Help PLEASE

Hi Everyone
This is a little embarrassing but im still using W2K and its painfully obvious i need to upgrade to xp at the least. Question 1. Can I purchase and dl XP from a website online and is that the smart thing to do? Question 2. Should and could I just purchase and dl Vista instead and if so can this be done online or will I need to go out and purchase the software.

XP is tried and true while vista still has all the little bugs being worked out. Im sure you can download either one as long as you can burn it to a CD to install. Vista is VERY system intensive and if you are upgrading from a 2000 machine without upgrading the components you would be better off sticking to XP.

Any suggestions on websites to dl XP from? Winxp's website redirected me to windows vista to upgrade. Thanks for responding.
