Massive CD Drive Problem

My cd/dvd drive has stopped reading any discs, it also barely ejects which is weird cause my computer says the disk is working properly and i dont know whats wrong.

The cd/dvd drive is a Slimtype COMBO S0SC-2483K.

Any help would be appreciated.

Its also a LAPTOP.

Once again, make sure everything is plugged in properly.



EDIT: When i say "everything" i mean your IDE cables (the thick flat ones that are white)

It's a laptop. I'm thinking the drive might have died out.

Is there any way to possibly fix this without opening it or does anyone have instructions on how to open a laptop.

You don't open a laptop to install a drive. This might just be a dead drive.

Is there any way to fix a dead drive without buying a new one, where would you buy a new drive for a laptop anyway?
