Hey guys, new to the forums. Can' wait to get into Tech Forums. Anyway, im gonna build a comp around $1.5k-2k AUD. Can you guys help me check compatibility and also suggest new/replace my 'original' build below. K/B Mouse Speakers Not needed.

OR
Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 2.66Ghz 2x2Mb Cache 1333FSB - $237.

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3R - $177.
Is the DS3P Worth the extra $20 + is it compatible?

HDD: Seagate Barracuda 320Gb 7200RPM 16Mb SATA II. - $99

Case: Thermaltake VB1000BWS Soprano Chassis. - $104.50

If anyone can get some info on that monitor would be great. I can't find any reviews :S.

Hey kilborn,
Welcome to T.F.!!

That build looks ok. If you can afford the Q6600, go for it.

The DS3P is not worth the extra, because the extra PCIe slot isn't needed. Besides, it only supports Crossfire, not SLI.

Try getting the DDR2-800 of those XMS2 C4.

Get a better power supply brand. Look for Corsair, FSP (Fortron Source), SeaSonic, Enermax, or HIPER.
