3RD party graphics dirvers.

I have recently bought a Radeon X1550 Grafix Card. Im wondering, if there are any 3rd party drivers that I could try and use to boost the performance. Has anyone ever used these before? Are they as easy to install as ATi catalyst ones? Do they make much of a difference performance-wise?

Omega is a pretty well known 3rd party driver. I've used it before, on my x1950pro, and it works great.

how much more of a benchmark increase did you notice wen you used the modded drivers?

I used to use omega drivers for my radeon 9700xt it was a lot better. Not sure what it would be like with modern cards however.

Well I didn't benchmark it, but I remember one thread, where a guy compared 3rd party to ATI's drivers.....and he got a significant increase in 3dmark06, as well as more FPS in games.
