From that website you can see the performance difference between Wolfdale 2.33GHz and E6550. The performance difference ranges from 1% to 115% depending on the application.

In gaming Wolfdale was about 10-15% faster, with one benchmark showing a 30% increase (In HL2)

In DivX Alpha 6.6 encoding, Wolfdale performed 115% faster in converting mpeg2 to mpeg4 (more than twice the speed) because of the new SSE4 instructions that Wolfdale have

Wolfdale also have much lower power consumption than E6550, and it produce less heat.

At Idle:

Intel Core 2 Duo E6550
Power - 61W
Temp - 41C

Intel Wolfdate 2.33GHz
Power - 43W
Temp - 31C

Thats ^^ about %50 decrease in power consumption. And Wolfdale is supposed to overclock better because of 45nm die shrink

Wolfdale is a dual core processor

It is the desktop version of "Penryn"

...................

Edit:

Penryn is the codename of the upcoming 45nm laptop processor

Wolfdale is the codename of the upcoming 45nm desktop processor

Yorkfield is the codename of the upcoming quad core processor for desktops

Yorkfield is supposed to come out on Q4 2007

Penryn and Wolfdale are supposed to be out on Q1 2008
