Fan coolant?

This is my first time building a pc & I just got my parts yesterday. After skimming through the instructions, I read that I need a cooling gel for the fan

Where can I get this? Preferably at a store so I don't have to wait for shipping again

It's called thermal paste, and one of the best you can get is Arctic Silver 5 (AS5). It's very inexpensive, and can last for a lot of applications.

I only know of places online that sell this stuff, but try your local computer shops.

Are there any other small items that I will need before I begin building?

I hear that I need a anti-static wrist band. Will just grounding myself work to get rid of static?

Those wrist bands aren't necessary. Just simply touch any metal part of the case's chassis for like 30 seconds (well I only touch it for like 5-10 seconds), and you're grounded.

Does this stuff ever expire? And how often do you need to apply it?

It doesn't expire. So you don't have to worry about re-applying it, unless something is wrong with the temperatures.

Theres probably something on the heatsink already, so you might not need to buy anything.
