It will leave a residue, which isn't good. A bottle of rubbing alcohol will cost you 98cents so being cheap is no reason to avoid going the tried and true method. Isopropyl alcohol evaporates completely so there is no residue.
yeah, that's what i used to do, well, still do, if i need anything cleaned up real good. got mates that work in hospitals so they just get me the alcohol wipe things or w/e the **** they are, that clean and evaporate like 10 secs later. pro!
I'm sorry there are many brands of nail polish remover that only use ethyl acetate and/or acetone. If there are any other ingredients there may be a slight film left on the part but can most likely be removed under running water. /footinmouth
