CPU Heatsink reccos?

I thought the tuniq tower came with a fan, or are you saying to get a different fan?

I measured what I have room for, and if I pull out my exhaust funnel over the CPU, then I will be able to fit in the fan. The power cable is right next to the cpu however, so I think I will get the tuniq tower, so that it uses more vertical space, (plus my graphics card pretty much destroys all low air flow anyway.)

MB is Biostar K8NHA-Grand. From center of CPU I have 79mm until hitting power supply, 90mm until hitting graphics card, 180mm of height, and have memory that sits 3mm up right next to the cpu. Since the tower is 5.5mm in the air, I think that will be my best choice.

Thanks for all the help. It seems that the tuniq is the recommended one anyway, and yea, for $45, its $15 less then the Zalman 9700.

last question,
1) I believe I will want to place another fan above where the CPU was, should this be pulling air into the system? or out? (current setup is one 90 in front bring in, one 90 in back blowing out, psu has fan to go out as well. however graphics card blocks most direct airflow to mb level where the cpu is. )

Thanks again for the help!

actually thermalright 120 is the best out right now, but it needs a fan, read the description for it

Simultaneous posting b1g, it's like we are symbioticly connected!

Edit: But true, you were faster than I. I will blame it on my greasy fingers from all this free pizza I'm eating, w00t!

take a pic please and post I don't understand

Sorry it took a while to get the pics up, but here they are, if you need others, just ask and I will get.

shows my exhast tunnel. there is no fan in it. goes over top of the cpu

Shows how much space I have around the CPU to the GPU and the memory and transistors that are also around.
Shows power connection as well.

Better view of power connection and how close it is to the CPU Fan.

tries to show the airflow that I believe is going on in my case. The green lines show the box that is kinda formed around my cpu by components. the space between end of GPU and HD is not much more then 1.5 inches.
Air flow seems to not get to lower levels of cpu.
green circle, is about where exhast is sitting, yes it is not directly over the cpu.

This shows how close the cpu is to the PSU, there is only 79mm of distance until I hit the bottom of the psu.

I hope these help. I tried to explain what the picture showed, and tried to get pictures of everything I mentioned.

I noticed several thermalright 120s is there one in particular?

I will blame it on my greasy fingers from all this free pizza I'm eating, w00t!

Free Pizza! I want some! When free food is around the college student comes running.

The fan on top should be an exhaust, pulling air out, because heat rises.

Its a side case fan, not top. Does this make a difference? I've been eying the Antec 900 case with the top mount, and have been looking around, although slowly, for another that is similar, to help with cooling. but its not a top priority right now.

Yep...went up again. Guess it was a one day sale. What sux, is I had the money for it, right there.

Man... I was so ready to buy this. My dad told me to wait a day so that he could see if there was anything that he wanted as well, (so group order), and now.... oh well, maybe I'll try svc, Thanks for placing the link.

TO ALL:
Thanks for all the continued help, I very much appreciate it.

EDIT: Hey sorry guys, seems my geocities account was hit hard, and I've already used up my hourly bandwidth limit. I'm looking for another web/image host now. Pictures might not be available because of this.

EDIT2: Ok, photos are back up again.

Use imageshack or photobucket to upload your pics. They're free too.

The Thermalright 120, that vernong is talking about in particular, is the Ultra-120 Extreme edition...it is the best air cooler right now. Although many consider the Tuniq, because it's cheaper, and comes with a fan.

If it's a side case fan, it should be an intake, pulling air in.

Ok, I'll see if I have enough room to mount a fan after putting a new CPU fan in.

Also, the pictures are back up.
