Debating on two gfx cards

I'm upgrading my old hp which has amd athlon 3200xp+,512mb pc2700 and a geforce 4 mx4000 128mb. My budget is under $50 including shipping. Low/Middle demanding games are much of what i play on my pc. Here are my choices:

Newegg.com - SAPPHIRE 100577L-1 Radeon 9550 256MB 128-bit DDR AGP 4X/8X Video Card - Retail

Just want to know which one you guys would pick

the 9550 is the winner, 256mb and 128-bit memory bus.

I'm going to have to say the GeForce 6200. Yea, it may be 128mb 64bit, but it has a core of 350mhz instead of the 250mhz that the 9550 has.

In this case, that makes them more comparable.

Though some 6200's have what's called "turbocache" - a stupid idea used to make them cheaper, but sound faster. It actually reduces performance.

did anyone notice that was a low profile 6200??

also nothing in the stats mention turbocache

for that money i would see if i could pick up a second hand card. who knows, you might be able to get a 6800GS which would blow the 6200 away. at the very least you should be able to get a 6600GT, having upgraded from a 6200TC to a 6600GT myself i know it's a big step up!
