My laptop just crashed. I have no idea why. I was just going through random sites (nothing potentially dangerous), and on AIM. What I'm assuming was my HD just started making a clicking noise, and the laptop immediately froze. I shut down (by holding the power button) and rebooted... only to be received again by that clicking noise on the HP startup screen. After that, I got an error message of "Err1Err3". Hitting any key added to that "Operating System not found".

My only guess it that my HD died, or something like that. The laptop was not overheated, nor did I ever let it get remotely hot enough for that to be a problem. The laptop is also only around two months old.

HP Pavilion dv9000z series
Intel Core 2 CPU T7200
200GB 7200RPM SATA Dual Hard Drive
2GB DDR2 System Memory
Windows Vista Home Premium (32-bit)

Help. Please.

Clicking noise from the hd means it is dead about 90% of the time. Sorry man. You have a warranty? It should be covered.

yep I had this same situation occur for me, unfortunately what they're saying is true.....dead :(
