i had a 22" acer and i will attest that extra real estate on your desktop is better than having a higher ratio. in my opinion, the average eye can't really pick out the difference between 800 and 1000.

but if you're set on getting one of those two, i'd go with the LG. they are a very high quality producer.

Both LG and Samsung monitors produce better image quality than Acer

And 20 inch is more than enough in my opinion.....

Erm some guy at school said that LG were owned by Samsung. Is it true?

He probably heard that they were both Korean companies and assumed LG belonged to Samsung... since Samsung is a bigger company. Similar to Kia being owned by Hyundai.... except that's true... or was true... lol
