"The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000006)" - installation cd screwd

im tryin to install the Sims 2 game, when i put the first CD in, it's suppose to autoplay, but instead of that this message comes up "The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000006). CLick on OK to terminate the application"

i tried the cd on my parents laptop and it worked fine, and i tried other cds on this computer which also worked fine
which left me very confused about where the problem might be
Please Help

and also it's a Windows XP operating system and it corresponds to the requirement on the CD case

have you scanned for spyware/viruses or registry errors?

Have you tired to access it through my computer by right clicking and then clicking explorer and then clicking on then setup file (.exe)
