I wonder what the newegg xmas sale and mail-in-rebate totals will be like for the prices of these.... xmas buyings are looking to be booked early this year = )
This just a post from a member of that site, is almost 2 months old, and has no official source or back-up. It is largely believed to be spurious, but hey, we can dream right?
To the people that are expecting the price of the 8800 series to plummet... I'm going to have to disagree. It will probably lower a bit, but it won't enter the mainstream price market of less than 200... well the gts might later this year. From what I have seen through the 6 series and 7 series... the high end products generally do not fall much at all. 7800gt's are still selling for about the same price as an 8800gts, as are 6800gt's and ultra's when they show up on newegg.
From what I read, it's revision of DX10, that improves shader performance, higher quality images, as well as improved multi-core processor performance.
