I have a MSI KT4V.
Just a board I'm messin with. I powered it on and I get 2 beeps then pause then one beep.
I reset cmos, then power on system. The beeps still there. Display says press F1 to enter Bios or F2 to load defaults and continue.
I can enter bios, set everything the way it should be, save and reboot. The computer no longer has display from this point.
I clear cmos again. During power up, I get the beeps again. Display is back with F1 and F2 options.
This time, I press F2, the computer continues to the next screen where it freezes. I hit reset and then no display or beeps.
I reset cmos again. Back to square one.
Parts used are:
AMD Athlon 1800
2 sticks of 512mb DDR333
450 watt power
standard VGA card.
All parts were used before and still used after for testing other boards, so I know its not my hardware.
I went to MSI website and tried there bios recovery procedure, but nothing worked. Can anyone shed some light on this or is it just trash?
Thanks,
Donald
