I just got a new mobo...its in my sig.

I checked task manager and it doesnt show dual-core.
When i replaced the new mobo last night, i reformatted my wholepc, ive done win update and installed sp2.

And my pc doesnt recognize any of my usb drives, the manual tells me to insatll it my self...how to do that, i dont know?

Is their anything i havent done?

the cd just had like nforce drivers...it installed invidia drivers. It has usb drivers but it said it would work for xp.
Im trying to figure out how to flash bios via floppy disk or cd.
can you help me and find out.
Im so frustrated with this problem...its driving me nuts.

please, thanks

go look up the latest version online, for nvidia's website, that might help...

i did everything. i flashed my bios...everything possible.
Ill probably return my opteron and get a x2 4200.
But the main prob now is that i dont know why my usb drives arent showing up?

Hello,

Check your BIOS settings to see if there's a setting to enable dual core functionality.

i intalled that and it didnt work.
I looked around in my mobo and no luck.
Im not sure if this has to do anything with it, but could it be my xp version?
I have an emachines recovery disk...all it does is restore my computer to its original state.
And its Windows media cented edition 2005.
when i check my boot.ini it shows xp home?

if i install xp pro, would it make a difference?

From your other thread, it looks like the BIOS didn't flash properly

the CMOS checksum error means that the flash utility refused to write the new BIOS

Before the flash utility actually starts reprogramming the BIOS, it generates a checksum (based on the BIOS file itself)
it will only reprogram the BIOS if the checksum matches that needed by the motherboard's BIOS

*edit*
I know exactly what the problem is now. You're running XP Home, which will only use one CPU core.

lol ur running home edition?? lmao, that explains a lot, that answers that go accquire a copy of Professional, but keep it legal!!!!!!!!
