How hot is my cpu? Speedfan, Everest, and BIOS disagree?

I just put together my 1st build and checked to see what my temperatures are. Speedfan and Everest home both say my cpu is running at 52-53*C at idle! I checked the BIOS and it says my cpu is a cool 28-29*C at idle.

Should I trust the BIOS over the outside programs? I want to check into doing some overclocking and was hoping I could use a program to monitor my temps, but I don't want to use one that is unreliable. Thanks in advance.

The BIOS is where you would get the most accurate temperature reading.
