I read Wiki's Wi-fi page and it describe wi-fi as having a network.

Yeah wi-fi is wireless connection to a network and a wireless mouse is just....wireless. Btw if you wanna stretch your budget for the new g5 it has 2 side buttons, imo it's worth it.

I was wanting something with some extra buttons that was decently big. I was looking at a Kensington pilotmouse 72242 PilotMouse Laser Wireless
because it fit my hand great but it seems like it has gotten really bad reviews.

So how bad is wireless really? I'm not a pro gamer or anything I just want a mouse that won't annoy me because its so bad. I'm just tired of the cord getting scrunch up on stuff since my desk is so tiny.
I guess if need be I'll just get one of those cord holders or make one.

Also does anyone know of a good mouse with the scroll/tilt wheel near the very front of the mouse?

wireless isnt that bad, my parents iMac has one and it only sux when you have to get up out of your chair once a month to change batteries, otherwise its pretty efficiant
