id still get the samsung if its cheaper, they are quieter and the speed difference is not noticeable
ive had both a samsung and a seagate 250gb and you honestly cant see any performance increase from either so just get what is cheaper

I think they're going to come out either the 3rd or 4th quarter of this year.

Sometimes I like mixing it up. I don't like repeating the same components, for long periods of time. Yes, the Seagate is good...or those redundant HZs, but there are others out there, that can do the same, just as well. The DS3R is getting pretty repetitive, and the P5K seems to be a nice alternative. Or the MSI P35 Platinum, if you want some features.

well i always thought its more about the better parts other than whats being used more often. but yeah i suppose if they give the same results then its fine, just that i would never rec. a samsung hd over a seagate

If nothing else, I get the Seagate drives because they have a reputation for being very reliable.
