HDD Hard Drive and RAID

I was just wondering how you set up RAID? I want to buy two 250gb HDD's and set them up to do RAID... any suggestions/tutorials?


Also, does perpendicular recording make a big difference? I was gonna get a Seagate with perpendicular recording, but I can get a bigger sized Samsung for a better deal...

Get the Samsung Spinpoint 500GB for the better deal. $30 more for 180GB more. I've been hearing, that it's a bit faster than the Seagate.

REALLY?? Even if the Seagate has the perpendicular recording??

Perpendicular recording IMO, isn't much of a difference, in terms of speed.

after hearing this i decided to see what going on. from all tests i have seen the other way round. the seagate being faster and even the wd faster than the samsung.
